I am a Clinical Psychologist located in Apex, North Carolina.
I am married and have three teen and preteen children. I love dogs, gardening, reading, music, photography, scrapbooking and anything crafty or creative. I have recently discovered genealogy and may need an intervention to stay off of ancestry.com. I am currently dabbling in woodworking, and I love to decorate. I have recently learned how to use wordpress. I first became confident about my computer skills through learning photoshop elements. My guilty pleasures include spider solitaire, So You Think You Can Dance, and reading self-help books. If I wasn’t a psychologist, I would love to be the next Jane Goodall, but I would study elephants, orangutangs, sea otters, and giraffes.
I attended the University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, Ohio. I graduated from U.C. with Honors and received the Arthur G. Bills Award for Excellence in Research. I began graduate school at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in School Psychology. I decided I wanted to work primarily with therapy clients, and I transferred to The University of North Carolina at Greensboro where I received my Masters and Doctoral Degrees in Clinical Psychology.
I have worked in private practice in the Raleigh area since 1997. I currently specialize in anxiety and depression across the lifespan. I have specialized in pregnancy and postpartum issues for 16 years. More recently, I have developed a strong interest in treatment methods for ADHD in children and adults. I have always loved positive psychology including how one develops resilience despite a difficult childhood or adversity in one’s current circumstances. My research interests in graduate school primarily focused on developing and maintaining positive self-esteem.
I currently work full time with individual clients, and I am developing several workshops designed to develop healthy habits for greater happiness and success. These workshops will focus on the ability to establish more authentic, meaningful, and satisfying paths throughout our lives.
